Quick Fix For The Doldrums

BY MISTY JENNEIAHN
"When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad."
~Julie Andrews

Change your thoughts. Change the world.
Normally quick fixes aren’t always the best way to feel better. However, the simple act of shifting your attention to things that lift you up is such a powerful act, we felt compelled to show you it's many benefits.
Science has proven that focusing on things that light you up acts to affects your physiology positively & uplifts your mood. A smile on your face instantly signals molecules in the brain to fight stress, illness and even help reduce physical pain!
In a world where we have been trained into thoughts of self criticism and judgement (80% of the thoughts we think are negative and affect our well being immensely), it only makes sense to add time and energy to the positive.
What we think about we bring about so alloting time to remember, ask for, and allow the things into your life that warm your heart is an act of self love. Who among us couldn't use more of that?
So, the next time you’re feeling blue, give yourself a great big hug and then try this little exercise.
1.Get out a piece of paper and write down as many of your favorite things as you can think of. Save the list and glance at it occasionally as a reminder to interject more of that goodness into your life regularly.
2.Let the good feelings into your body. Don’t just think about the favorites, imagine them in a way that you can embody the feelings they elicit.
3.Remember to include the little favorites. favorite time of day, favorite smells, favorite people, favorite t shirt, favorite flavors, favorite flowers, favorite eye shadow or chair to sit on, etc.
